"Review Week 4"

Why/how can icons be used to communicate?
Icons are pictures and in my opinion can be easily interpreted rather than using words so everyone can understand.

Via the internet, find 2 examples of common icons that clearly communicate their message. Post both in this entry.

What is the difference between copyright and public domain?
Copyright is the license of work and public domain is the status of one's work copyrighted.

How can you avoid plagiarism in this class? In other classes?
In any class you can avoid plagiarism by just not using that information and finding another resource. In graphic design, if text is involved, you can use different words instead of copying the actual material. Using graphics, you can use other designs as an idea but not for an actual project.

Intro Goals

Why did you take this class? What are your goals in this class?

I took this class because I wanted to let my creativeness to come out and reach its full potential. Also, I wanted to get familiar with working on computers and creating designs. It is like getting a piece of what a real job would be like if there were certain projects to get done on a deadline. I can take this experience as a designer and use it in the future if I want to carry on this as a career.

Review Week 3

What is OSHA? What do the letters stand for?

It stands for Occupational Safety and Health Administration and it is an agency that protects workers rights when he/she is injured, ill, etc.

How can graphic designers effectively communicate? In your own words, explain the communication process.

Graphic designers can communicate using graphics (pictures, elements of design, etc.) and text. You have to convey or let a demographic understand what is being portrayed in a design.

Understanding the history, culture and movements of fine and graphic arts will make you a better producer of visual messages. Why?

You can use the information and make your skills better.

What can lines aid in, when alone or combined with  other lines or shapes?
Lines can aid in the readability, appearance, and message of a design.

What is texture?
Texture refers to the surace of a design with the reader being able to feel the texture of th epaper and materials in the printed deign. Also, texture can be implied through the use of layerd paper.
