How can you, as the designer, use principles of design to help compose a page? You can add a lot more interest and viewpoints for the person who is looking at it.


What are the principles of design (define each in your own words)?

Balance- elements utilized equally in a design

Gradation- size and direction that produce linear perspective

Repetition- the repeating of certain elements 

Contrast- opposing elements that work together to have a good appeal to the eye (color)

Harmony- satisfying effect of combining similar elements

Dominance- gives the piece interest

Unity- visual linking of various elements of the work
