Stationary Package

  • the printed pieces that a company utilizes for communication purposes
  • When establishing a business, it is very important that all communications are well coordinated and that the message of the organization is conveyed
  • Includes business cards, letterhead, and envelop
  • Business card: an essential part of a stationary design; they will form an immediate opinion about your company; it tells how people can find you, your mission, culture, goals, something about your company; everything forms colors, fonts, the texture, shade, and glass of the paper shows something about you
  • It typically includes: logo, company name, employee name, numbers (phone, fax, cell, etc.), email address, company address
  • Design tips for business card: must be 2"x 3.5", horizontal or vertical orientation, check for accuracy, check for unity...continuity among other pieces, margin is .25" to .125"
  • Letterhead: a printed piece of paper used to send letters, memos, etc.; typically includes logo, company name, address, phone number, fax number and web address
  • Must be 8.5" X 11", vertical orientation, must leave room to write the letter, memo, etc., check for accuracy and unity
  • Envelop: the packaging that contains the letter/form when being mailed; standard #10; include the logo and the address; must be 9.5" X 4.125, horizontal or vertical orientation, must leave room for recipients address and stamp, check for accuracy and unity

 - Photography companies use a lot of black in their logos/wordmarks so try to utilize diferent colors
-  Floral companies use a lot of bright color to cause attention and happy pathos

Assignment #17 Research and Inspiration

Combination Mark Assignment
- Either choose Spin Records or Dr. Gleam Dentistry
- Main colors: blue, some kind of peachy pink, and white/ black and red/ blues and white
- Use visual hierarchy meaning create a simple logo that is not fully outlined but enough for the viewer to complete with their own eye; also put focus on the most important part of design, then second important, third, and so on.
